89 5.7 350 been running great except to get it to idle right while driving I would have to tap the gas...works every time. bout a week ago i noticed a loss in power and the oil pressure guage would decrease under acceleration. found what i thought was the problem a joint connecting a vac line from around the fire wall to the egr and that canister up front had broke. replaced helped in the power some but oil pressure now kind of hunting and engine running rich making my eyes water when standing over engine...baby on the way in less then a month and my car has to be running any help greatly appreciated

 

Is the SES light coming on?

 

actually just now on my way home my ses light came on and when i put it in neutral it would actually idle where its supposed to without having to tap the gas. couple more miles and it died on me started right back up no ses light. ran code when got home 24 which if not mistaken is tps?

 

see what that code is. could be sticking egr valve, corroded pickup coil, fuel pressure (filter) or other maintenance related problem

 

Ok fixed my vss issue no ses light. The hose clamp on my intake boot was tightened on with part of the bottom folded in leaving a big hole. But my oil pressure gauge is still hunting. Going up as far as 45 down to like 20 or 15

 

needed new oil pressure sensor all better
