Must be from Connecticut. There are two items that cause the short run on a regular basis.

First is the stock Multec injectors. If the engine has Multec injectors trash them for some decent Bosch injectors.

The second item is the ignition module, pickup coil, or spark coil (in that order).

But if the original or even replacement Multec injectors are in place. I'd trash those for Bosch before even checking anything else.

hey Rbob, the 'mechanic' that worked on the car before it was sent to me,replaced the injectors (don't know what brand)and supposedly did a major tune-up.the first thing I found was the distributor firing order was waaaay off, also the pick-up coil looked cooked to me but checked out on the ohm meter.I'm thinki'n that is probobly it.I'll keep ya posted, this aint over yet!
thank you for your reply!,rory

Firing order always throws folks. Mostly because the #1 plug is passenger side front. Then 1-2-3-4-5-6

With VATs, usually the engine won't even start. So it may have been bypassed. Look for either a different PROM in the ECM or for a VATs bypass module near the ECM.

I would check the injectors to see which ones were used, along with the flow rating. If they put Multec's back in... (I've seen it done). Checking the fuel pressure is also a good idea.
