Hello, I'm new to the 3rd Gen Forums
I am new to the 3rd gen forums.
Just purchased a 1982 Indy Pace car.
Really I am a 1st Gen guy, I have a 67 and a 69 - Both Pace Cars.
Then last week I had the opportunity to buy a very low mile 82 IPC show car.
I am not new to the 3rd Gen. Camaros - (I am an old guy)
Back in the day I daily drove from new, an 84 Z/28 (I raced in SCCA Autocross in the 84)
and in 86 I met my wife in my brand new 86 IROC Z.
I had ordered an 85 IROC, but there was a strike that year so I took an end of the model year 84 instead.
I drove both of those cars into the ground - through Ice and snow, and everything else.
So I just wanted to stop in and say hi.
Sure I will need to ask questions here now and then.

welcome aboard! I'd like to think I'm a 1st gen guy, but I'm too broke to afford one. So now I'm onto 3rd gen #3.

Good find! Car looks very clean. Usually I see Pace Cars that either need a little work or missing many parts (engine, seats). Sounds like you have been a fellow thirdgener for a long time

Welcome to our "club". I am also a newbie here but this IS the place to be when it comes to forums. I can't say enough good things about this site. I over the years have had a thing for these F bodies... Since 1998 I've owned 4 F bodies at one time or another. I had a 1981 Firebird, a 1987 Firebird, a 1989 Firebird (With T roof) and now a 1986 Trans Am (305 4 bbl, T5 manual & t roof). It's funny to think about it but all my F bodies were painted black! Kinda a Smokey & the Bandit / Knight Rider thing going on... LOL

Thanks - You guys have a load of members.
Great forum.
Here are a couple old photos from back in the day...
first one is me sitting in my 1984 Z
second is my 86 IROC parked in front of my parents house in Illinois.
Those were the days - LOL

Re: Hello, I'm new to the 3rd Gen Forums
Well guys, I wish I could say that I have a stable full of these F bodies! The 81 Fire bird and I departed ways in 2001, the 87 Firebird departed ways in 2004, and the 89 Firebird was gone in 2006... the 89's floor and frame were completely rotted. When we put her on the back of the wrecker to move it, she almost folded in half! Well I do have some old glossies of my cars and some memories! Luckily the 86 TA that I just picked up is very solid and that's the way I intend to keep her! She's black with a grey interior, 305 4 bbl, T5 manual tranny and a t roof. She also has the 16" factory rims. "Gina" is my time machine... If you look at my signature it shows my current stable that I have; 84 F 150 (daily driver), 82 Suzuki GS400 (my 2 wheeler) and then my 76 Ventura that I just traded for my 86 TA. I also love the water, so I have an antique '49 Princecraft aluminum boat & a '68 Thundercraft speedboat. So with these things, plus my 24 ft camper and a canoe, let's just say my yard & driveway is getting a bit small... LOL... thanks for the compliments though!

Radial tires, and cold A/C come to mind.
I know - you can add that stuff - but I like them the way they came.
The A/C in my 66 works great, until it gets real hot outside - then not so much. LOL
