I just bought my 89 TA w/86k miles back after 7 yr..But when it starts it will run for about 10 min and just die(like you shut the key off),I think the cooling fan kicking on is whats causing this. The ign. lock also seems like there is alot of play in it,when I wiggle it it changes the pitch in the warning buzzer.The chip on the key is within specs,coil ok,FIJecters sound good,fuel pres good.After the car dies it will not start and all of the sudden it will start several times,just wont run after 10 min or so. Anyone have any ideas??

 

Wll we need to figure out exactly whats happening to cause it not to start. First though are you saying it wont crank its just dead or it cranks but wont fire? Im going to assume you mean it cranks and wont start so the first think ide check is for spark and make sure your fuel injectors pulses are there with a node light or just try spraying starter fluid in. With that information we can track it down to either fuel delivery or the ignition system as its likely one of the two.
