New motor sitting in garage
I have a new engine for my LT1 build sitting in my garage wrapped in a plastic bag. How long would it be ok for the engine to sit around for before anything is done with it? I am worried about rust/etc. forming in the insides... it is a fully assembled long block with heads, valvetrain, intake installed and sealed. I taped the exhaust ports and the intake holes. It is also filled with 6 qts oil.
I need a few more months before i can start it up so should I be worried or what should I do for protective measures? The garage is heated and has never gone below 58 degrees.

As long as it was properly lubed when it was built and you get it installed within the next 50 years, you should be ok.

I bought a wrecked 93 years ago, stored the engine. I got some marine fogging oil and sprayed it in the cylinders. Stuff is made for boat storage. Sure hoping it will. In your heated garage you should have no problems.
