code 44 most likely cause?
my 85 t/a 305 tpi has been putting out a code 44 intermittently my haynes manual says it could be bad fuel injector(s), low fuel pressure, defective maf sensor, defective o2 sensor or defective ecm (which i just replaced), i have pretty much ruled out a vacuum leak as i cant hear or see one which of these is the most likely cause of my problem? the idle fluctuates and sometimes at a stop in gear it will choke the engine

I have changed the fuel filter and tested the injectors also. I am going to change the oxygen sensor b/c I got it when I changed the alt. With the core charge the sensor was free if not that then maybe egr valve is next

Re: code 44 most likely cause?
you need to get a hold of a gm diagnostic diagram... or something like mitchell diagnostics... or you can google the various steps to diagnose each of those possibilities...

Re: code 44 most likely cause?
I just want to add when the alternator is bad and the battery drains while driving, a code 44 will be displayed because of lack of power to spark and fuel pressure. A charged battery and computer reset will fix this problem is most cases. happened last night to me
Re: code 44 most likely cause?
i have a 90 camaro 3.1 v6 and im getting the code 44 as well but i put in a new alternator and realized the battery is like dead im replacing it on thursday but do you think the battery would be the problem because i just replaced pretty much every sensor other than the o2
