Losing Spark.
Losing Spark.
Howdy,
Wondering if anyone can shed some light on my situation. I have a 92 Camaro RS throttle body, and i'm having some trouble figureing out why i'm losing spark. The car will start after it's been sitting a little while, but after it runs for about 5-7 minutes the spark coming from the coil starts to become inconsistant and eventually just dies out. I've put a new coil on, didn't change. I went to Advanced and O'Rileys to have the Ignition Controll Module tested and it tested ok every time (Advanced tested it twice, and O'rileys tested it 3 times.) I'm convinced it's not a fuel issue since i can watch the fuel be dispenced fine through the throttle body. I can also hear the fuel pump kick in. Anyone had a problem like this that they can fill me in on what the deal is?
Thanks.

Re: Losing Spark.
Turns out it actually was the Ignition Controll Module. Went to Auto Zone and had them test the old one again. He tested it 7 times, right after another, and it tested fine. Got home and put a new one on just for the sake of being safe and bam. Car started, and ran like a dream.
Just a tiny bit of advice anyways.
Thanks.

Re: Losing Spark.
I dont see how they bench tested it. The only way to test an ignition control module is too have it all hooked up, test the signal it recieves and verify that it is correct, then test if it is pulsing the primare side of the coil.
