temp head gaskets

I done a search and found that for a GOOD head gasket for an aluminum headed 350 is the 1010 felpros but they are going to run me right at 90 bucks. Well ill be tearing it back apart in 6 months to a year to stroke it and hate to spend that much and have to tear it down that soon so my question is what would you guys do spent the 90 bucks twice or is there a good cheaper substitute head gasket that would work good for about a year?????

Re: temp head gaskets

1010's are good gaskets and they are reusable to an extent. I would put the jegs ones on it for now that are $25.00 a piece. I 've used these gaskets several times with no complaints.

Re: temp head gaskets

Over the years, I've re-used head gaskets many times, even on race engines in a pinch. Never has a single problem.

Back in may "experimental days" I've even run DOUBLE head gaskets on a BB street engine without any issue. You'd might be surprised at some of the unconventional things I've tried over the years.

So in your case, I'd use the 1010s now and then not have to buy another set a year down the road.

Keeps you from having to buy two sets and you'll come out saving money.
