burning wires

got new spark plug wires, went from stock to 8.5. they don't fit on the stock looms so like a idiot i just set them away from the exhaust manifold and they got burned
any ideas on looms and wires i can use i dont have headers yet and don't plan on wrapping the manifold with tape till i get some

The hill-billy technique is zip ties.

Or you can hit www.summit.com and search for "spark plug wire looms" and browse the 9 pages of results for something you like.

I second Pocket's idea. I use them as well and they work nice and look fairly good too. They deffinetly keep them in place and give them the appropriate spacing to prevent misfiring issues due to induced voltages from the other wires. I believe I got mine at autozone for around the same price.

whats done is done . you should have considered this before you installed the wires . i used the " made for you " brand from summit catalog . i'm very happy with mine . good luck on repairs .

For stock manifolds try using a set of big block plug wires. They have strait boots and lay away from the manifolds.

I had the same problem, zip ties work wonders until you can find the right looms.
