Mild Cam in 305???

Mild Cam in 305???

I am just wondering, but could it even be possible for me to put in a mild cam into my 1992 Firebird? THANKS!

Nice reply...haha. Yes, it is. Look for a LT1 cam or a marine 350. Mild and cheap.

comp xe-268 would be fine, and you would have a nice "chop" with good street manners.
i had an xe-274 in mine, power brake vacuum was a bit low but at 650 rpm it sounded glorious! power band was 3k to as high as you dared to push it

You don't want to go with a huge cam like the xe268. Your 305 TBI heads and intake will not be adequate for something this big. Stick with something that makes power and torque between 1000 and 5000 rpm. The LT1 or an L98 cam would be a good, cheep alternatives that will make a difference compared to the stock cam.
If you want to go a bit bigger you can consider the comp xr258hr12. It is a good upgrade for the TBI engines, but will need to make sure the heads will accommodate that much lift. I recommend you install new valve springs with the new cam.
