Re: Air Tube Help
I'd just leave it. Its not doing any harm. If anything, you're just making exhaust leaks.
And if you're trying to shave the bay... go big or go home, pull the engine to do it.

Second that, just cap the hose/tube. If you don't plug it right you're just creating exhaust leaks that'll slow you down. on the flip side, you're not losing an appreciable amount of power by leaving everything hooked up.

I'm curious too. That metal line that runs behind the baseplate.. It looks like it is bolted to the block. When it stops raining here im gonna try and get a ratcheting wrench down there.

Re: Air Tube Help
theres a metal line that runs down the block to the cat, then another that joins the two manifold air tubes, which runs behind the baseplate and bolts to the heads.

Re: Air Tube Help
The tube bracket bolts are also used to connect the ground leads to the heads. Just be careful. Cut and pinch at the Cat and replace the air pump with a delete kit, or use a shorter belt.

Just a heads up.......
Removing emissions equipment on street car is looked upon as tampering with Federal equipment. It is illegal to remove the stuff & the car shouldn't be lega;l to be on the street anymore, regardless of emissions testing.
Even if your state doesn't test for emissions, that doesn't make removing it legal to do, for a street car.
Do what you want with the info. I'm just pointing it out, that's all.

Re: Air Tube Help
Well in Alberta, it doesn't matter. The day they start checking cars for emissions, or even testing cars; Suncor and Syncrude would have to get shut down first.
Doesnt really look like I can get to my car today, another shitty day in Edmonton. But i'm gonna try and just look at it, i think it's just 2 brackets (1 on each side) that holds that connector metal hose. So I may just try to get some tin snips or a rotary tool with a cut off disc down there.
Does anyone know specifically what is holding that tube in?
