No, the changed bolt angles was the V8s. Which you should swap to. You'll hate the tiny V6. heck, nearly all of us hate the 305 before ever trying a 350. And once the rest try the 350, 99% of them do the swap. The other 1% try to build a 305 to equal a stock 350. I tried it.
Do the 350. You won't regret it. Cammed and geared correctly, 27 mpg highway is very do-able. The V6 has to work too hard to do any better.

I've never heard of anyone driving a 2.8L third gen and being okay with the lack of power. Not one soul, ever. If it happened, I've yet to read about it. So if you want to upgrade, we're here to help you through it.

The idea of putting the orignal type block in was the fastest way I thought to see what all will work on the car and what wont.the car was dead in the water when I bought it.the body is in great shape.interior is not to bad.If I can get it running to see how the rest of the car is I will know where to go from there.I would like to go with the 350 set-up.witch would do the most.I'm not out to race.but do like power to pass with or take a long ride.

Okay, for heads you can use the heads from any '85-up 2.8L HO, whether F-car or Fiero. Stay away from the others, like the little s-10 pickups used. You can also use the heads from '90-'92 3.1L f-cars, and from '93-'95 3.4L F-cars. They're all the same ports, valves, chambers and so on. And they're all iron. Trying to switch to the aluminum FWD heads is a nightmare, for no return on investment.
For the intake manifold, stick to the '85-'92 F-car version. For all 3 pieces.
If you want to use the '93-'95 3.4L short block assembly, it's very very easy, and the torque is a good thing.
There are no headers, stick with '85-'92 f-car exhaust manifolds and Y-pipe.
You can use a Fiero ECM if necessary, but it does bring a couple of hassles.
If you still have your stock ECM in functional condition, it can run the 3.4L so long as you use the '85-'92 intake manifolding.
And if you come across an '88 Fiero to get your 2.8L parts from, PM me instantly. I desperately need specific parts and have some $.
