Look at the bottom of the page. No guarantee they are perfectly accurate, but I've never seen a better list of specs and I've been crawling over 3rd gen info for many years.

Re: oem cam

thaks for the map. any ideas on a good cam to use with factory 083 heads? money issues has forced me to cut my "hot rod" back to a stock rod. I just want to get the most performance out of my engine as possible. its a stock 350 with factory 083 heads. I have to buy a cam anyhow so i wanted to get the most out of it. any suggestions?

Re: oem cam

If you're not going to have money in the budget to do a custom dyno tune then you really can't wander too far from factory cam specs. The later speed/density systems don't adapt well to significant changes in the engine's basic breathing characteristics (like a cam swap).

1.6 rockers on the stock cam is a popular upgrade. So is swapping in a production LT1 cam (which has very similar specs to the L98 350 TPI cam, except with more lift).

Many of the other aftermarket cams list on that same page have been used by board members over the years as well. I certainly wouldn't go more than 10* difference in duration or more than 2* difference is LSA if you want to stand any chance of it running decently on the factory tune.

Re: oem cam

this may be a stupid question. but would the fact that the engine has been bored .020 effect anything as far as it still having the factory tune?

Re: oem cam

No

Clean-up bore doesnt make/take power or increase flow enough that the ECM will know

Re: oem cam

Man this sucks. I have done hours of research and asked a lot of stupid questions and finally put togeather a good build for what i want out of my car and then BAM!!!! i need a new friggen truck. And with the truck i got a truck payment..... but I would rather build my car stock the to watch her set in the yard for the next 3 yrs. But thanks Damon and Pocket for your help.
Oh one more thing. If i port the tpi runners and all that , with that have any negative effect on speed density system?
