Stock dipstick tube length?
Hey, does anyone have the stock dipstick tube length? It would be preferable to have the length from the ridge that sits on the engine, as opposed to the entire length, but I'll take either.
My dipstick tube broke in half, which recently caused me to drive the car almost empty of oil. A nasty misfire, and 0psi oil pressure pulling into the driveway (I didn't drive far with 0 pressure, it showed almost full for 99% of the drive) promted me to check the oil again, at which point I realized the top half was split off and broken, giving me a bad reading every time I check the oil. I hoping the misfire is just a collapsed lifter, or bent push rod and nothing major like a rounded cam lobe or (worse) a fried rod bearing.
I hoping to get the measurement of the tube, and compare it to the dipstick and make a mark where the now shorter tube ends, that way I can get a correct reading until I replace the assembly.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Sorry, engine is a 350 from a 1990 formula, but I imagine the tube length is similar in at least 87+ 350s

I think they lengths changed over the years. I recall the handle was considerably higher up between my 92 and my brother's 87. Better to just shell out of a new matched set than to guess.
