Water neck bolt broke in intake man
I was trying to change my thermostat and the bolt on the right side snapped right off, now I don't know what the **** to do. Coolant is leaking out and I need the car on Monday. I didn't take the water neck all the way off but I see there are threads sticking out of the intake manifold a little bit. Advice? If I took it to a machine shop would they be able to get it out?

when i have bolts break off and there is a 1/2 inch or so of bolt left, i take a stud installer/remover tool on them. i bought mine from a parts store for about 30 bucks. a machine shop could get it out for you but you would have to remove the intake. you could also try to drill it and easy out it. good luck

I highly doubt that I will be able to get it out with some vice grips. It was super tight and I was just barley starting to budge it with a breaker bar. Is there something cheap I can use to loosen it up? Is PB blaster any good?
Re: Water neck bolt broke in intake man
Not really I had to take an impact to a big intake bolt today and someone put it in sideways so I had to impact it out and took a few threads with it of cast iron block. Normally you have to drill and tap it.
If you have a drill you can be carful and drill on it until the bolt crumbles or you can pull the peaces out. You then would check the threads and if to many are gone you would have to helicoil it.
Hopefully it comes right out somehow.

Damnit I really hope so, I don't have any cash to throw around right now If I cant get it out the car is going to sit. I will take off the water neck tomorrow and see if I can get the damn thing out. If the other one breaks I will be royally ****ed.

Put a nut on whats left of the bolt sticking out, then weld it on. Then just take a socket to it.

Try JB Weld, or another good epoxy?
Or if there is a decent amount of stud, put two nuts on it and use a wrench to spin the bottom nut, but I don't think there would be that much stud.
