motor? or clutch?
I need answers....
I have a 87 trans am, its a carb. 305, 5 speed with 110,000 miles
Gears seem really tight to where im almost forcing it into gear at red lights, but havent noticed any slippage,
Takes off pretty good, but once i get to about 3000 rpm in 2nd gear i lose almost all power
is my motor just getting tired and not wanting to put out the power?? or could the clutch be going bad??
Note: No rod knocks===== starts fine------ and doesn't miss ---- but there is a weird humming noise.

Re: motor? or clutch?
Check the fluid level in your clutch's reservoir, then check for leaks along the master cylinder, slave cylinder, and line. If your clutch is going bad, typically you won't have a hard time getting into gear at all since it will be slipping.
