oil pan gasket leak/ low oil pressure?

well let me just start off with the story

alright so i went on a small road trip maybe 45 miles. as i almost aproched my destination i had almost no oil pressure, i assumed it to be low oil and stopped at the local mini mart and bought oil. i started the car and oil pressure has gone up, but only a tad bit. i had noticed on the drive back that something didnt seem right, it felt like a head gasket. i got it home and put it up on the jack stands and started to drain the oil....coffee color...DAMN....after rebuilding the motor with new gaskets and seals along with new push rods because they seemed a bit worn, i then started to put water and coolant in the radiator....looked under my car seemed to be leaking, water pump weep hole...guess the seals went south, replaced that...added new oil and started the car ran great it seamed but i did not check the oil pressure....flushed the oil out (because of the gaskets and water being in the block). i put new oil in and then did i relize the oil pressure was still really dangerosly low maybe about 15, the oil pan gasket seems to leak quite a bit but i wat to know if that could cause LOW OIL PRESSURE, because i dont know whats bad with it, either the pump itself the pickup, rod bearings. also when the car is cold and i start it the oil pressure is just about where it should be, but once it heats up the pressure drops to exstreamly low maybe 0-15 i just dont know and i would like to know some sugetions on what this could be and what i need to replace

thank you all so much

Re: oil pan gasket leak/ low oil pressure?

From what you typed, it seems to me like a bearing problem.

In theory, perhaps, but nobody sane would do it this way given any alternative.

Re: oil pan gasket leak/ low oil pressure?

It doesn't really matter, if your oil pressure really is low, the cure is the same no matter the exact location of the problem.
