Short at the starter
Guys,
I just put in my brand new, rebuilt 355 carbed. I have all wiring out from the TPI that used to be in there. As I was setting the timing yesterday, I was planning on just hitting the key a couple times to get the motor in the correct position to set the dizzy. Upon attempting to start the car, I got a click sound, that sounded like it was coming from the starter, at which point all power went out. I tried again and nothing happened. No lights or anything. About 5 minutes later, the car had power again. I then went to start it and it clicked and lost all power again. Any clue on what the deal is?
Thanks!

Re: Short at the starter
You've got something wired wrong. Starter should get all the fusible links and the pos batt cable on the large terminal, and ONLY the purple wire on the smaller terminal.
