My camaro project needs help please!!!!
The previous owner of this 91 305 used to spin the distributor any time he wasn't driving it so nobody could steal it.
This caused a significant misfire, so I finally got the plugs in the right place, its on, and turned so it idles nicely.
The car still shakes quite a bit though. Also, the tach doesn't work and I don't know why.
Any videos or help showing me how a 91 rs with a 305 should run would be great.
Any help pertaining to the tachometer would also be appreciated
Notes:
The car doesn't throw ANY codes. Service light is off.
Suspension is pretty shot.
Just ran techron through it so I know I need a new fuel filter

When you say it shakes, at what point does it do this? Is it all stock? Tach not working could be as simple as the wire not being connected to the coil. As far as the light goes, not sure on that. I would think it'd atleast throw something with as little as the tach not working. Welcome to the board!

Re: My camaro project needs help please!!!!
thank you for your quick reply, and thank you for welcoming me!
Anyway, the tach is connected it just sits at 7000 to about 6000, or it just spins all the way until theres no more room for it to spin.
Its all stock with the exception of a cat-back exhaust.
It was shaking violently due to the misfire, but since we fixed it, its a sort-of low rumble. I can video it and upload it if that will help?

I'm not as well minded as many are here, but I try to inform when I know I've been through the same thing. A video will definitely be of help, especially to any others that are trying to diagnose the issue.

Watched the video. Don't see or hear anything as far as it running. But vibration wise could be due to the techron you had mentioned. Get another filter on there?

I agree with hydrolic144 on the filter. Definitely a good place to start. I wish I could have seen the video, unfortunately my computer decided to be an a-hole and my expertise is exclusively with cars. You can't hammer or torch a pc and expect to get anywhere. Anyhow, keep us posted.

It may have been my internet connection speed or something silly. Just seemed like it was constantly buffering the video. Works fine for other vids I've tried to watch though.

Thanks, pc is ok for now, but keep us posted on your car. I dunno about Jeep troubles on my end but I am having a problem with my Dodge Neon. See the problem is, I own it. Lol. Wish it was a 3/4 ton 4x4 pick-up!
