Stalling issue when I stop
Hi all -
I have a problem with my 88 Camaro 2.8L V6. When I stop at a stoplight or stop sign or anywhere after she's warmed up (about 30 minutes) she stalls. I can start her right back up with no problem, but as soon as I press the brake again, she just cuts right off.
Here are the things that have been replaced that others & mechanics have suggested.
Timing chain
adjusted timing
Water pump
ignition module
vacuum lines
tps
idle air control
plugs
wires
cap & button
air filter
map sensor
Alternator
And a few more things I can't think of right off the top of my head. It's driving me nuts. Also the voltage drops when I shift from park to drive or reverse. I was thinking maybe something electrical, but what and where?
Any help or new suggestions would be great.

Re: Stalling issue when I stop
Last night I upped the idle on her and so far so good (knock on wood). Maybe that was the issue, the idle was too low. But if anyone has any other suggestions or have experienced a similar issue with their Camaro and found the issue, please let me know.
Thanks a bunch!

Re: Stalling issue when I stop
I am having the same problem with my '89 2.8 automatic. once she is warm she wants to stall at every red light and stop sign. Even going down hills she stalls if the rpms get low enough. Causing me to lose power steer and brakes and the check light to come on. i gotta fix this soon so i replaced fuel filter spark plugs + wires. has new alternator and mass air flow sensor. she idles at about 750 rpms which is the same that my standard '87 2.8 idles at. What exactly did you do to correct your issue with the idle?

Re: Stalling issue when I stop
I am having this same problem with my 88 2.8l automatic. It only does it occasionally. It will idle fine then at a stop light the rpms dip down a couple times then it stalls. i can start i right back up and good to go for another couple stop lights. Also, when I drive the car until she is warm and then go into a store and come back out the car does not start on the first try but always on the second try. I need some help. thanks
