starting problem????
ok ive done some work since buyin the car..91 camaro rs v6
car started yesterday just fine. then it started last night, i was goin to put some gas in it cause it was low but i think it ran out right there. bogged way down low struggling to stay on. so i just turned it off. today walked to the gas station got some gas put it in and now nothing! no fire at all. checked the timing. its real close. still need to time with a gun. theres gas in it. right now its a 8degrees BTDC ive heard people tell me 6 and 10 so i just went in between and it started just fine with that yesterday. im smelling fuel as its trying to start. i dont know if the cylinders are just flooded. i did let it sit for over a hour before tryin to start it again. it trys to start but dies right there. any ideas??? and when it was starting. when i would press the brake it would stall out also, tryin to fix that problem but it wont start for me to check to see if i got all the vacumm lines connected again.. i found a couple behind the manifold and the sensor at the air filter for some reason was disconnected, there all connected now. the vacumm to the booster is there also.

let it sit for over 5 hours just now tried to start. cracks over but doesnt fire??
i dont even know where to begin anymore. spark plugs are new, just retimed it again today. it started just find yesterday and today nothing? i hear the fuel pump coming on when i turn the key. is there a chance of getting air in the fuel lines? how do i check to see if im gettin fuel to the motor?

Re: starting problem????
ivebeen lookin around with ppl with the same problem. i hear some just replaced the whole distributor and fixed the problem some say the module..how do i test this??
Re: starting problem????
thats a definate possibility that you got air in the lines, try spraying some starting fluid into the tb so the car will fire up. if it stalls out again check your fuel pressure, pump maybe half dead. also you can press the schrader valve(test port) see if you hear air comming out, or fuel, dont get fuel in your eyes etc, be safe
check a plug to see if its soaked in fuel, make sure you got spark
side note
try priming it like 3-4 times ->key on listen for the pump, when the pump goes off, turn the key off, 10 second break....repeat that 3-4 try and start it
get ba k to us on what you find
edit : its hard to test a module without a scope or Dmm. most easy way of telling is to check subsystems...aka no spark, no inj signal, etc

Re: starting problem????
try the starting fluid, if it fires up then you now know you have a fuel issue, but if it doesn't then you have an ignition issue... likelihood is that your IGN module is toast, a common problem for 3rd gens... you can take your module to autozone, I believe they have the capabilities of checking it... if it test bad, go elsewhere where they have AcDelco, Niehoff, or Borg Warner... or if you're not in a hurry of getting it up and running, you can get it through rockauto...

Re: starting problem????
well i checked the valve where the fuel is coming in at the back of the manifold. found i have fuel leaking out of the valve. so the shrader needs to be replaced. its a drizziling kinda leak, i dont know if it would actually cause it to not fire at all, but fix that before i move to the distributor.. when you say check the module, you are meaning the module on the distributor where the connections are at right??
