my origianal timing marker that is installed shows timing at about 12 o'clock position and the new one would be like 1 30 position or somethin

I'm not sure what size balancer you have, but following the "0 to 30" column of this chart, redraw your timing line. (Cut some heavy paper or masking tape and wrap that around, its easier than trying to bend the ruler) Clean it off first, then paint the line on.
During my first engine swap, I noticed it was way off while checking my tdc before putting the heads on. I redrew it the old fashioned way, with a piston stop. About a year later I found this web site, and sure enough the line I drew was about 2.1 inches on the 8 inch balancer.

hm ok so i can basicly just redraw my 0 degree mark. ok cool.
would it be recomended for me to replace my harmonic dampner on the old rust bucket or do they last forever and if i do replace it do i have to buy performance product if i wish to use my new timing cover and pointer

ya ok!!! ha ha ha.. so the question is what year had the timing mark @ the 2 o'clock position on the 6.75 in blancer that i could buy i read somewhere on here that the tpi guys had a 130 position because of intake reasons do any of us have 2 o'clock marks?

If you need a 6-3/4" balancer with a 1:30 position timing mark x-reference to an 88 TPI engine (TBI engines all used the straight-up 12:00 position mark as did many other 305 applications over the years). For an 8" balancer with a 1:30 position mark you have many applications to choose from, for instance a 1980 350 Camaro.

so is there any documented proof that switching to an 8" blancer vs the origional 6-3/4" blancer would possitively affect engine performance

No. It will probably do a better job at dampening torsional vibrations but as far as making power, pretty much everyone has found it makes little or no difference.
