rear main seal leaking?
Hey guys, my 91 TA has an oil leak somewhere at the back of the block, and after seeing a small puddle of oil in the torque converter shroud, I'm suspecting a bad rear main seal. Any other possibilities? It's a 305 engine with about 104,000 miles by the way.

Re: rear main seal leaking?
Valve covers, Rear of the intake, between the block and intake, oil pressure switch or fittings, oil pan gasket. Valve covers can leak and the oil runs down the block and looks like it is coming out of the rear seal. You can remove the TC Cover and look up and see the rear main seal. might be able to confirm that the RM seal is leaking just by looking. Look up from below and see if the valve covers are leaking, if you see oil at the lower rear corners of the covers, they are likely leaking.
