Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: I need to know where the knock sensor is located

IF it has one (not all LG4s do) it is in the coolant drain hole on the pass side of the block; halfway back on the block, just above the oil pan flange. It'll be just in front of the starter.

Thanks. I'll take a look. Is it easy to reach from under the car? I was planning on flushing the system anyway, so is this what needs to be removed to drain the coolant? By the way, this lg4 has a knock sensor. That was so GM could raise the compression ratio to 9.5 to 1

looks like a bell. Located underneath #6 and 8 cylinders on the passengers side of your block.Should have one single blue wire going to it.

I've never had a problem removing one. Here's what it looks like:

I'll hit it with some PB Blast, and take it out. I guess I'll get some antifreeze coming out which is what I want anyway.

Will a knock sensor throw a code on a 92 305?
