If anybody out there has an 82 to 85 with a 305, I could really use a photo or two of where your smog pump is located and how it is positioned. Nobody in my area has information on this. Thanks, all contributions greatly appreciated

 

The smog pump that was originally hanging on my block was located under the alternator. The lines for it haven't been connected in years,

 

The smog pump is located on the passenger side on the bottom. With the brackets hooked up, it'll line up with one of the crank pully locations (can't remember which one). As I recall, it was on a single belt by itself. I swapped over to serpentine to aleviate the problem of the V-belts couple of years ago so my memory may be a bit fuzzy though.

 

No you are right I've actually managed to dig stuff up on it. Now I just need some parts LOL parts which it also seems noone has

 

if you have a chevy dealer nearby you may be able to have them pull a diagram for you. We do that for people all the time.

 

That would be nice because Haynes is about as descriptive as a Dan brown novel when it comes to emissions stuff lol

 

Do you need to see how the pump itsself was bolted onto the brackets, or how the air diverter and hoses were? This is the best I have for a front view of the setup. Sorry the bottom of it was cut off because of the angle I took the picture. The belts removed in this picture, along with the vacuum line that goes to the air valve. Took all this stuff off months ago so cant get a new pic. I have one or two side views though.
