Fuel issue (stalling)

Me again. I had a new problem today. I was returning to the college to put my car on the rotary to replace the (probably stock) fuel filter when it didn't start up as I was going to drive it in the bay.

Had to use the electric car pusher (that was fun...) and here are the symptoms:

Car turns over and starts for a second but doesn't stay on.
Gas tank is half full.
Fuel pressure was ok.
Oil pressure is ok.
Battery is ok, dunno about the condition of my spark plugs or ignition coils.

It started again no problem after doing this twice.

I wasn't doing the diagnostics, the advanced class was but they used a fuel pressure gauge and noticed that when the car turns off the fuel pressure drops slightly, I guess that means that it's an indication of a bad injector. I thought it was a relay, myself or a really clogged filter but wouldn't the fuel pressure be low if that were true?

Has anyone had this happen before? I wanna know some places to start cuz the instructor couldn't get a real diagnosis because the problem went away.

had similar problem and it was mass air flow sensor. sometimes you can just clean it with some mass air flow sensor cleaner. mine had a broken wire and would stall after you started it

Re: Fuel issue (stalling)

Tomorrow before class I'm going to check the MAF, check continuity on the injectors, check spark plugs, ignition coils, and do a fuel volume test on the fuel pump. I had replaced the fuel filter today (broke the fuel lines they were so rusted..I made my own new lines). I tried blowing through the old filter, and it was almost completely clogged. God knows what junk the fuel pump has been sucking up, so I'm guessing it's between that or the MAF or injectors. It runs rich a lot. What exactly did you use to clean the MAF?

Obviously I did a lot of research after posting this, hopefully it is something I can test.

Re: Fuel issue (stalling)

if you are running rich and want to do a quick test to see if you have any leaky
injectors, just pull the plugs, if you have wet cylinders you have a leaky injector.

Re: Fuel issue (stalling)

They diagnosed it, leaking injectors. My motor has a horrendous knock it's gonna die eventually so I'm just gonna save up and put a 350 in it. Would like an LS1 but...they are too expensive.
