Just dropped the 350 back in buttoned everything up. I put a crane powermax 2040 cam in. It started right up. I got the base timing down. I left the wire that allows the ECM to control the timing because I haven't gotten a prom that will control the timing right with the new cam.
So I took it for a spin and the timing was off a little bit. Turned the car off and then tried to fix the timing, but the car wouldn't turn over. I was low on gas. I put some gas in. I made sure my MAF power MAF burn off and fuel pump relays were plugged in right. The car still won't turn over. I think my problem might be no fuel. The fuel pump primes and runs when I try to start it. I haven't checked my pressure yet. I do have an adjustable. Could this be the problem? I don't see how it could be since it was running before. I have tried just about everything I can think of.
Anyone have a suggestions or had this problem before?
Thanks Drew

so the engine does not turn over at all... doesn't do a thing, right?
right. if i spray either into the butterflies it kicks but when the either burns off it doesnt kick.
yesterday i walked out and started it and it fired up. Then I moved the distributor and the car shut off and wouldn't restart. I think it might be a wire that is cut or something.

I had the same problem! I was messing with the timing on my car after I swapped the v6 out for a 305 TPI and it run just fine and I shut the car off to reconnect the timing wire and went to fire it back up and it wouldn't start at all out of the blue like that so I checked for spark because thats what it sounded like and I had spark and fuel so someone told me you probibly have weak spark so I looked at my cap aand rotor on my dist. and it looked like they have never been changed so I got new ones and it fired right up. So its a thing to look at.
Alright thanks man I'll try that. Mine does look kinda old but I know I just changed it last year. Oh well I'll give it a try. I'll let you knownif it works.
So I tried it and it didn't work :/. I think its something else. I might try a control module.

Be sure to test the pick up coil also. Its under the rotor. Test it for resistance at the green and white wires where it connects to the back of the ign mod. Should be between 800 & 1000 ohms. And do check your wiring carefully around the dist. Also, check all the grounds that attach to the rear of the motor. Make sure they are all tight and no wires are stretched. Check dist connectors for damaged terminals. Check ign mod for bent pins.
