cam suggestions l69 supercharged

i recently blew a head gasket or cracked a head. not sure yet. anyways, i'm taking the 882 350 heads off my l69 and putting the 416s back on. i'll drop the boost from my 9psi pulley back to 4 or 5. I plan to use a thicker head gasket, maybe getting my cr closer to 9 instead of 9.5 with the 416s. Anyways, what would be a good cam for this combo since i'm already going to be back down this far in. didn't cam it the first time due to lack of cash.

Re: cam suggestions l69 supercharged

What's your induction? How is this supercharged? ie, blow-through carb, etc?

I'd lean towards a mild cam with a long overlap, like an FI friendly style. Those are good for forced induction. Comp has a lineup of cams for blown applications, but stay mild, you don't want to lose your bottom end, and a 305 is easy to overcam.

Re: cam suggestions l69 supercharged

I'm not a forced induction guy so take this FWIW. But don't they like longer LSA and less overlap?

Too bad you aren't closer I have been wanting to port a set of 416's for a turbo build. You could easily get the chambers to +60cc and decrease detonation at the same time.

882's cracking? Who would have thunk it? (where's the sarcasm button when you need it?)

Re: cam suggestions l69 supercharged

The forced induction is a b&m 144 7rib roots style blower. i have a holley 670 avenger setting on top which i believe is ample enough to feed this motor. it has longtubes and a 2.5 inch y into a 3 single, then splits into two out the back again. with the 416s i use to spin the motor to 6k at the strip for rpms purposes. the car is actually a daily driver so i'm not looking to loose my power breaks due to a giant cam. car makes 20 vac at idle. tranny is a t5

Re: cam suggestions l69 supercharged

just checked cam and lifter sets on summitracing.com I went through the options and saw a superchanger option under the camshafts. for $100 i can get the sum-k1104 which was the smallest available of the options. lift int/exh .465 114lsa int/exh 224 and advertised was 282 int/exh i believe. can't post links or have multiple screens open, using my phone.

Re: cam suggestions l69 supercharged

Ivelostcontact if you want I can run these cams through DD and see which power curves you like for your application.

Also you may want to try posting in the forum for power adders I don't think those guys get out much.
