why all the electrical stuff? i understand wanting to do stuff so its not a problem but some of that stuff seems like its really un needed, a wire isnt going to just stop working, most batterys give a fiar warning before they go usually 3 or 4 slow starts, same for starter. Id say, Plugs, spark plug wires, cap, rotor, fuel pump, check the breaks, check for leaks, maybe radiator houses

Well this is a tough one because your really at the mercy of the previous owner. If it was garage kept and they took good care of the car your probably in good shape just keep up the good work. If they ran the car into the ground your going to have a lot of work on your hands. Now what I see is your trying to go through the car and replace anything that you feel might give you trouble to make the car like new from a reliability standpoint. Problem there's so many things that could give your trouble it would really take a ground up restoration to eliminate anything that could happen to the car. Not to mention its not really economical to replace things just because there old. If it were me I wouldn't just throw parts at the car but you can go through the car and inspect parts to see what does need to be replaced. Also maintenance is going to go a long way as to how your car holds up. Listed below is a list of things I would do.

General maintenance:

Make any necessary repairs obviously
Oil and filter change
Grease your front end joints
Oil you hinges (hood, door, trunk, ect)
Coolant flush
Grease wheel bearing
Transmission fluid and filter change (not flush)
Plugs, wires, cap, rotor ect
Air filter replacement
EGR valve cleaning
PVC valve replacement
differential fluid change
O2 sensor
Under coat the car (at least if you live in the rust belt and its not already rusted out)

Things to inspect

Battery cables
All vacuum hoses
Belts
coolant hoses
Timing
Brakes (parking break included)
Tires (for wear and pressure)
steering system for play (possibly even take it in for an alignment)
Exhaust system
Rust
