NEED HELP FAST PLEASE.....LIFTER PROBLEM

NEED HELP FAST PLEASE.....LIFTER PROBLEM

Hey I have a problem with my 305 its oe roller cam the lifter wont pump oil up through the rocker I replaced the roller and changed there spots from where the rollers go checked the oil gallies and they are clean I pumped the oil pump manuely to see if there was oil getting to the lifter bore and walah there was .......after moving the lifter to another bore I tried seeing if it would pump up no pump up and little to no oil still ticking and bending rods on start up trial .......any ideas on why the old lifter and the new lifter wont pump up or pump oil through a push rod and I know its the lifter because there in different spots now and also on note I've soaked in in deisel fuel and tried soaking them in sea foam in atemps to clean the lifter as autozone clamed

try using the correct tool for oil prime and push in the lifter with push rod, pump the lifter while priming. may need a buddy to help

the lifters are pretty rock solid i tried pumping them but they barley move is this normal?

You need to disassemble the lifter to clean it properly.

yea i did dissasemble it and cleaned it out it i didnt have much in the way except small amounts of oil any more explanations to do befor i throw it back in and see if it works

In that case it may have a sticking plunger. You can normally feel it when disassembled and you press the plunger in and out of the lifter body against the pressure of the spring. If there is any sort of scraping, the lifter is no good. you can't always feel the problem, but either way the lifter has to be replaced. I know of no method of repairing them.

Alright I just tried what you said it seems to stick and grind....would that mean bad macheing of the autozone crappy lifter?

i pulled the gunk out of it and seams to be more area to compress is this good and i felt some lifters i had laying around by lunati there brand new in the box and they feel the same is this good? and im about ready to see if it pumps ill get back to you thanks i really appreciate this help

thanks! i got to the problem i cleaned the lifter out super good and walah problem fixed thanks guys i really apreciate it it turns out that autozone does sell cheepo parts
