Unseizing motor?
Unseizing motor?
Greetings guys,
Make a long story short, I unsiezed my motor, but it just barely moves. So I took out the spark plugs and took off the fan belt so the motor doesn't have any resistance. I shot diesl fuel in the cylinders to help lub and drained the oil, flushed that with diesl fuel too. I changed the oil filter, drained the diesl fuel and refilled with oil. The engine will just barely move. I don't have the capabilities to loosen the crank bearings so I was thinking if I could just flood the motor with more oil to try and get some oil on the crank. Not trying to start it just keep turning it over with the plugs out. Would putting in five more quarts hurt anything, help anything, or what? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your help. Regards, Robert.

adding more oil wont do anything but waste oil. If its that hard to turn over after letting oil and such sit in the cylinders, it needs to be torn down.

It sounds like your engine has seen it's better days and needs to be replaced. If the engine is truely siezed, it's beyond saving, except for the parts that you can take off of the block that's still usable for a rebuild.
You may just need to get another block and salvage whatever you can from your existing engine and just go from there.
Best wishes on it in any event.

Yeah, there isn't anything you can do without tearing it down and seeing what the problem is.

You can keep loosening it up using WD40 in the cylinders and keep cranking, cranking, cranking without the plugs or belts on... but you defiantly need new bearings, rings, and your valves probably need to be lapped if it's seized from sitting.
