blown 305 help
ill keep you posted on everything but last night i was driving home and my oil pressure went to o and the motor went kaboom, just died right in front of my house too, tried to crank not a thing would turn, so on CL i found a guy with the same 305 out of a 85 camaro and its only 250 and has 90.000 miles on it, the car has 77k, but anyway, i will be doing a motor swap and may need some help here and there, and from the information i just got tonight i got one of my friends looing at the motor telling me that the TPI intake on the 1985 carb setup, he says it could physically bolt on but the cam setup may not make it run, anyone have any idea if it would work or if im better off selling the motor and trying again
THANKS

Re: blown 305 help
It'll be fine, but if you wanted to change it then the time to do it is while the engine is out.

You can't put a large cam in a stock EFI setup, but there wouldn't be much reason to anyway.
The center intake bolt angle changed, but it's nothing that can't be dealt with. You can either slot the manifold, or you can put your 86 heads on the 85 block.

No, there's no pressurized oil anywhere in the head.
You've examined your current engine and you're positive it's dead?

Re: blown 305 help
wont crank got a knock got a racing buddy that said i spun a rod bearing and i also ran it with the oil pressure at 0, so the motor didnt do so well plus the motor is going to be a race motor when im done with it, but i have to have something in the car to get me to schooland back for now
