Need Help ASAP
I started the car and drove down the road and it died on me. I have spark at the coil and the spark plugs. I can hear the fuel pump cycling. Sometimes it has fuel pressure and then the guage reads 0. I replaced the FPR and it did not work. Still have no fuel pressure. The car acts like it wants to start but will not run. Used chemtool and got the car started and then stopped the chemtool and the car died. Any help with the problem is appreciated ASAP. This is for an 87 Chevy Camero.

by the sounds of it, you already know the suspect; fuel pump.
It's now up to you. Do you fix the oversight made by Chevy when the car was built and install an access panel to the fuel pump?
Or, do you spend extra time dropping the tank because you like disconnecting your exhaust system and getting intimate with your rear suspension?

Have you done this before? If you have were exactly will the access panel go? How would you recommend doing it.

TRY FUEL FILTER CHANGE FIRST. YEAH I KNOW LONG SHOT BUT FUEL PUMP CHANGE SUKS. I JUST CHANGED TANK/SENDER/PUMP WITHOUT CUTTING INTO THE SHEETMETAL. LOTS OF FUN WITH REAR END DROP. EXHAUST DROP ETC...

Definitely try a new fuel filter first - $10 and 10 minutes. It should be replaced at least every 2 years anyway, most of these cars (until we get ahold of them) have never had a fuel filter replaced.
PS - if you do 'get intimate' with your exhaust, my wife says she wants to see video!

MY S10 FUEL PUMP SHUT DOWN. I FLICKED THE FUEL PUMP RELAY AND THE PUMP RAN. RELAY WAS RUNNING HOT BUT IT RAN. PRETTY EZ FIX IF YOUR STUK SOMEWHERE. NOW I CARRY RELAYS / PUMP / AND IGN MODULE WITH ME. HAD EM ALL BREAK AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER.

Ok going to try new filter but I dont think it will work. already bought the pump. trying make up my mind on droping the rear end and exhaust and then the tank or cuting hole looks easy and fast and all about the fast way

dropping the rear is fine but I say you best change other stuff while its apart, check shocks n springs, check bushing, brake lines.......
Like pulling off the front of the motor to do a timing chain n not change the cam while your in there
Stuff like that makes me cut a hole, as if Im that far in, its hard to stop just there.

I STARTED WITH A FUEL PUMP / SENDER / TANK . NOW I GOT THE REAR END APART AND THE ENGINE OUT...
. TOO MUCH DRIED OUT VACUUM LINES AND HOSES . 5.7 AND 700R4 WILL GO BAK IN CLEAN , SPARK PLUGGED AND RE-LINED. WHAT A B$TCH BUT WORTH IT.

ok replaced fuel pump and pfr still wont start motor is flooded pull plugs turned over motor to get fuel out put used set of plugs still no start if i unplug the injectors it fires off but wont run plug them back in and nothing happens unplug again and fires off going to replace the temp coolant senor and O2 sensor next what do i need to look for or do HELP
