91 305/TPI Freshen Up
Hello from Australia,
I just bought a second hand 91 Camaro 305/TPI. About 80k miles on it
I currently live in Hong Kong but will fly back home to work on the car during my holidays.
Its got a few problems which from scouring the forums I think I have the answer to most of them.
Over reading Tach - 196k resister
High Beams Stuck On - Adjustment of switch selector
Wont start hot - Guess its an earthing issue, starter or solenoid.
Really shitty exhaust - Ordered Magna flow single into double
Bonnet and hatch wont stay open - Ordered new gas struts
Whats best brand/model number of starter motor for these cars.
Okay what else do these cars need to freshen them up and bring them back to new apart from plugs, leads dizzy cap and rotor button.
What mods are easy, cheap and a must for a car such at this?
I would get headers but because its been converted from LHD to RHD I think most will have problems fitting clearing the steering wheel being on the wrong side.
How much punishment can the T5 and diff take in these cars?
Lastly should it pump water into the over flow when switched off hot?
It sucks it all back in when its cooled off.
Is a pair of K&N filters a good purchase?
Since I have not seen the car and everything is a 2 to 3 week shipping time from the USA i want to make sure I have all the parts and goodies to swap when I arrive home in Australia.
I have always wanted one of these and I plan the drive the wheels off it when I can (1000 mile round trips) so id like it to be reliable and trouble free.
Whats the first things to let go and what things should I be looking for.
Any and all advise is appreciated, hope this is the correct area to post this.
