Re: Digital Dash
Yes as long as it is working when you buy the car. I had an 88 GTA with a digital dash and never had a problem with it. One nice thing about them is that it will have separate circuit boards for the speedometer and other readouts.

Re: Digital Dash
I would.
I wish that mine had one but sadly...not.
There will be a digital set going in at some point in the future.
How traditional that will be remains to be seen.

Re: Digital Dash
The answer is yes and damn do I wish my 91 had it. I had an 87 GTA with digi dash and the gauges were very easy to see and read, but my 91 GTA is analog and it really sucks trying to see everything.

Re: Digital Dash
Digital dashes are cool. Berlinetta, Firebird S/E, Trans Am or the GTA. All cool. Of course the Firebirds have a bit more to them than the Camaro. Funny how in the 80's the motoring press talked a lot of crap about our cars and the Corvettes with digital dashes but never really talked bad about the imports with digital dashes.
Re: Digital Dash
i don't know for the motoring press of the 80's i was born in 1971, i've just 16 years old when my car was built. And in France, we can't drive before 18.
My cars was imported from Canada to England in 1987. I saved her 4 years ago. I have restored it, because i love us cars. I don't think an american car is better or worst than a french car. When you have drove a Renault, you can talked a lot of crap too (we say "qui part en Renault rentre en vélo" that's mean "who go with a Renault car, go home with a bicycle"

Re: Digital Dash
I owned an 87 TA that I bought to flip. The only things wrong with it were minor cosmetic issues, motor was not a TPI, and the fan was wired up to a switch on the dash. It was so cool! I miss it, and many times wished I had kept it.
Re: Digital Dash
these cars are so cool.... Mine is a TPI 350 CI and rare in its options and color. In France we are only two owners to have this car with exactly the same configuration. Someone said to me, that only 200 exemplaries was produced with this combination, false or right, i don't know. But it's sure, i don't see another one like mine on internet with exactly the same characteristics.

Re: Digital Dash
I love my digital dash, I have had no problems with mine. The gauges are easy to read, it looks awsome, and its a real conversation peice, everyone who sees mine asks me questions about it all day long. One major advantage is that its an oddity, idk exactly how rare they are in 87-88, but you don't se them often, if the car you are looking at is an 85-86, its even harder to find those years. If you take it to a car show you will have a crowd.

Re: Digital Dash
Are you talking about cleaning the printed circuit board on the back of the digital gauge cluster?
