should i swap intake?

I currently have a edelbrock performer hi rise intake.....and my stock hood hits the air cleaner...my buddy has an edelbrock rpm intake. Would this solve my prob? Is that a good swap? The performer for the rpm? I've heard guys on here telling people to switch from performer to rpm. Thanks

Re: should i swap intake?

Before you can make a decision, you need to understand what you have now better.

There's no such thing as a
a edelbrock performer hi rise intake
Either it is a Performer, or it is not a Performer.

The Performer is basically a stock replacement piece. The Performer RPM series is VERY DIFFERENT; those are basically entry-level race manifolds with acceptable street characteristics as well. The Perf RPM Air-Gap is in fact a better racing manifold in some race applications than some other pure race manifolds.

Visit the height specs links for each manifold to see about differences in height among their various products.

Well thank you sir. It is a performer because it says so on top...I just thought it was hi rise cause it sticks up so high? Does the rpm do this as well? I haven't seen it yet.

Well...

When you went looked at the height specs, did you find the RPM is lower, or not?

Re: should i swap intake?

Ok...it looks like the performer air gap is significantly shorter and a pretty good street intake. thank-you.
