What cam shaft should I put in my 350 TPI?
Hi, just curious what cam shaft I may want to put into my 350 TPI for my 88 Firebird. Currently it's getting torn apart so we can start to rebuild it here shortly hopefully. It's bored 60 over right now so hopefully we don't end up finding out it needs to go further... But anyways, from what I've read through some papers the previous owner left me, it has a ZZ-9 cam in it, which I looked up and is apparently intended for a mini ram? Well, I'm thinking about getting a new cam. What the engine has that I am aware of: Roller rockers, aluminum heads, short style heads, and the transmission has a shift kit installed. Currently the computer chip is stage 2 programmed, though I'm thinking about getting a new computer chip since I had a dealership tell me that its making the car run a little funny. Apparently telling itself the engine is hotter than what it really is, tricking it into giving it more gas. It does seem to always have a high idle. As far as what computer chip I thought about going to is something like a Thermoflow 160 degree computer chip with of course the corresponding thermostat. And eventually thinking about making it dual exhaust, not sure if the engine needs to breathe a little more or not. Opinions on that would also be welcome. Thanks.
