NEED HELPP with my DD :( 90 RS

my daily driver is a 1990 camaro rs with a 305 TBI, its been running like a champ since i put new plugs & wires in it about 4 months ago, now out of nowhere my car seems to idle really loooowww or really high & it seems to hesitate when i try to accelerate, almost to the point where it stalls unless i let off the gas then get right back on it. its an automatic by the way, and i have an open element edelbrock air filter. please if Anyone knows any tips, please point me in the right direction, THANK YOU in advance haha

patience

the information provided in this forum is given free of charge by everyday folk just like you. You use a 21 year old car for everyday driving, that's great that it's still running well for you.

When did you replace the fuel filter? (there is a hint in that question)

When did you replace the O2 sensor? (there's another hint in that question)

I'm sorry if I came off impatient, I didn't mean to sound that way. I've had alott of problems with this car. so when it goes on the fritz I get a little worried.

Yes I know, and thats why I love this Forum. The people on here can relate to my problems because alot of people here have had similar expirences with their 3rd Gen. Now, as for the problem with as my car, I went up to pepboys, got a new 02 sensor, installed it, BAM! my car is back to running like a champ! Thank You. I greatly Appreciate it

well, that's great news

now you have to repay for the advice. Why did the O2 fix the issue? THink about it and post your reply.

beacause mine was shot, and the 02 sensor regulates fuel mixture, like so your car dosen't run too rich or too lean. when it stops working your car dosen't regulate it so depending on conditions it will run rich or lean. (mine seemed like in the day time when it was hot it ran really rich & at night when it was cooling down it ran really lean) i'm not sure if im exactly correct, but i did research the 02 sensor a little before i went to buy it. just because i wanted to know what it dose.

you have been bitten by the bug. You are asking why and how, which means you are hungry to learn more. I hope to see you keep posting and enjoy the east coast of FL as I enjoy the Gulf side.

And yes, you have a the basic concept of an O2 sensor's function.
