oil filter dilema

okay so im about to change the oil on my 305 TBI. pepboys gave me a Purolator brand oil filter part #L15313 on theyre site it says it fits my motor. so i go to jack up the car, slide under, and i noticed real quck that the one they gave me looks about half of the size (length wise) of the one on my car. its pretty much the same size round. but its short? the website for that filter says it fits my car. just wanted to know if anyones tried this filter or had a similar problem..?

Re: oil filter dilema

The one listed for a Camaro is a short filter. I usually use a C1500 filter because its about twice the size.

Re: oil filter dilema

I use a bigger one becuase it holds more oil. Not sure if it really makes a difference, but it makes me feel better if nothing else.

Some are short, some long. If your changing every 300o anyway, won't matter size, shape, brand - as long as it fits.

are you saying that size doesn't matter

if you go too large of a filter it might get in the way of the O2 sensor on the collector of your header.
