That does suck to see that happen. I work for a ford dealership and we had I think it was a 87, but a mustang lx convertible with a 5.0 and auto with like 86,000 miles on it come in on the cash for clunkers. Still in really good shape. Needed a top though but nothing else wrong with it. Sucked to see that one go too.

It's ok, it's still around. You've probably drank from a can that used to be part of that car.

I still fail to understand why dealerships just took awesome cars in on CFC instead of buying them as a trade-in and selling them. If I owned a dealership and had that car come in, I would still think there was money to be had on it. Lazy lazy dealerships.

Re: This is the saddest video ive ever seen
The reason most new car dealers wouldn't just buy them outright for resale for a few dollars more than the CFC price is WARRANTY and LIABILITY !!!!!!
In SOME states (like NY) dealers have to warranty them for X amount of days depending on year and sale price. Most retail dealers don't want the risk or possible headaches with a older
hi-mile vehicle...................
Even when they are able to sell a older used car "AS-IS no warranty" in SOME cases (again year and price) a new car retail dealer don't want to risk some crybaby that bought this "gem" on the cheap to be in the service dept. or showroom pissin' and moanin' that this "gem" has issues or s*it the bed a week later and that dealer RIPPED them off !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Off to the auction they go ................
