timing gun, wrench or socket for the dizzy hold down and thats about it.
disconnect the wire for the dizzy advance(dont remember which one it is) loosen the hold down hook up timing gun to number 1 plug wire, start car, aim at timing mark, and adjust dizzy for timing as desired. then tighten hold down bolt plug wire back in and call it good!

Thats HOW you adjust it.
You might want to dig a little deeper into some of these threads (based on your engine specs) to see WHAT you want to adjust it to.

Re: need timing adjustment help
the OP asked how t adjust the timing for better HP.
That is called advancing the timing and be sure you've purged all of that cheap 87 octane you've been running and have been running 91 or 93 octane for a tank.

Yes. Run premium and set timing to 10 degrees. If you hear pinging, reduce timing 2 degrees and retest, repeat until pinging is gone. It helps if there are no carbon deposits from lugging around town. As far as the process of actually adjusting timing, after you set timing, be sure to clear ECM codes by disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds. Otherwise your ECM may run in EST bypass mode and you won't achieve full advance.
