Dazed and Confused. Headers and A/C 87 Iroc-z
I currently have no a/c I would like to install a/c now that im replacing a 305 to 350 TPI. Can I use Headman non-air headers and A/C with the evaporator case (big fiberglass case on firewall passenger side) on a 1987 Camaro 350 TPI. My mechanic said there is no way the Evaporator Case will fit with headers i have to use stock manifolds. I have the block and heads in the car now need several opinions SAP? Also spoke with the people at Headman and told me there was no problem with installing with a/c ?

i have headers with a/c. its just hard to get the last two header to head bolts in near the a/c box. other then that i have never seen fitment issues. i also have a strange type of header that wraps close to the head in that area {may be g - body}. before i had regular shorties and those never had any fitment issues.

I've had 2 brands of headers in mine; both fit fine. Both WITH AIR for that matter. My A/C works great.
Not sure what a "mechanic" has to do with headers? What's the connection?
I thought somehow those were considered an owner-installed accessory? Thread
