I recently replaced the dizzy cap/rotor, coil, plugs, and wires on my 88 305 tpi. The first drive I took it on, the car ran very strong, stronger than its ever ran before. I was a happy camper. On the next drive I went on, it had reverted back to a slower throttle response and less pull, choppier idle. I'm thinking it has something to do with the ECM relearning or adjusting something that is making me lose a bunch of power. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Have you checked the static timing? The timing at idle?

 

reset your timing. 6 *BTDC with est unplugged.
