Temp gauge not working after new plugs

A few weeks ago me and my neighbor changed all the plugs and wires on my car. Car now runs fine but the gauge didnt work after the first start up. He believes he might have knocked something off but I dont know where to check at to see if that is true. It is pretty important because my fans are hooked up to a switch and it makes it hard to tell when I need to turn it on (I have just been turning it on after 10 min). Even still it irks me that it doesn't work. Where would I look to see if the connection is still there? I have the stock 350 TPI.

Driver's side cylinder head. Between #1 and #3 plugs. Single green wire connects to the sender.

Thanks, I'll have to check that out tomorrow and let you know what I find (it's 4 am and I am tired and dont have a garage or jack available at this hour). Or could I see it without the jack?

You can see it from the top. Just look at #1 and #3 plugs.

Re: Temp gauge not working after new plugs

I found the green wire but I can't find where the plug in is at and Chilton isn't helping me any either. Anyone have a picture of where it plugs in at?

Re: Temp gauge not working after new plugs

I don't have a picture but the sender is directly between the two spark plugs. It has a round button that the connector slips over. If it's an aftermarket replacement, it will have a blade terminal.

My sender has the round end and the wire has the connector that is like the one used for the speakers. Is that correct or is something wrong? Like the end of the sender feels like a spark plug.

Yeah, that's right. the connector slips over the "nail head' at the tip of the sender.

the connector connects perpendicular to the end of the sender, it doesnt push straight on like the typical connections for speakers

Thanks guys I got it all put together and it works great now! Even though it still shows that my car overheats a bit.

Re: Temp gauge not working after new plugs

My temp gause has recently begun reading randomly. One ignition cycle it will read high on the scale, next time it will run pegged at the top or maybe the bottom. Fairly sure it's an issue with the cluster itself. My engine never runs hotter that 185.
