Exhaust Manifold is Overheating

I have an 87 GTA, 350. I finally got the car running really good yesterday and I've driven it about 4 or 5 times since then with it running that well. This morning I took it to walmart and it driven the same there but on the way back it has trouble advancing and when you push the gas the car barley goes somewhere until you let off and let it change gears. This has happened 3 times and everytime it happens, the exhaust manifold smokes on the drivers side. Does anyone have any idea at all? I know I need to change my oil soon.. would that make a difference? I'm just clueless and some help from ya'll would help a lot. Thanks

Re: Exhaust Manifold is Overheating

no, that would not make the exhaust manifold smoke, the exhaust yes (esp. on startup)

Do you have an IR temp gun to measure the manifold temps L & R?
