Perimeter bolt heads
Why does everyone seem to love perimeter bolt heads? I've heard a lot of people say they think they look better... ? Centerbolts look better to me and seal better, And I dont know about you guys, but every time I see an engine with shiny perimeter bolt valvecovers I always immediately assume it's some 70s truck smogger heads. Does anyone else generally get the same vibe? Or is it just because most aftermarket heads are perimeter bolt and everyone is going for the fancy street/strip car look?

Re: Perimeter bolt heads
I like my new covers.I still need to drill the holes for the pcv and breather though, just a test fit for now.
To the op,I'm not a fan of the centerbolt valve covers because there aren't as many aftermarket ones out there. You can buy the adapters to use perimiter bolt covers on centerbolt heads though.

Re: Perimeter bolt heads

Always had problems with keeping gaskets in on old style covers.
Glue gasket to cover , used spreaders ; gasket still managed to dislodge and allow oil to leak out because of uneven clamping on corners especially with tin covers.
With CB style , can R/R cover as many times as you like without leaks because gasket fits in a double sided groove that it can't move from and is clamped evenly around perimeter
