0-60mph L98/LT1/LS1

Is there a big 0-60 differences between these engines in the same car with auto transmission and generally in daily/street driving?

Re: 0-60mph L98/LT1/LS1

Yes. Under good conditions and in something like a base camaro that doesnt weigh a lot, the L98 will take around 6 secs, the LT1 around 5-6 secs, and the LS1 will probably do it in 5 flat, or a little less. This of course assumes theyre stock. I have roughly the equivalent of an LT4, and it takes about 5 secs, or maybe a little less if I launch good, to go from 0-60. With the SBCs, the main difference in the engine will be the CR, the heads, and the cam. Those will determine how well the engine performs.

It also depends on whats been done as far as street driving goes, but the LS1 will get the best fuel economy and have the best drivability if you retain the PCM and dont plop a carb on it. Its a much newer and more up to date design than the other SBCs you listed.

L98 6.5 - 6.9
LT1 4.8 - 5.6
LS1 4.8 - 5.4

depends on the car weight, driver weight, elevation and car RPO

There is a big difference between L98 and LT1/LS1 as I see. What about daily/stret driving? Are there any differences because of L98's great low down torque?

The above replies are fail. It depends on your traction, your torque converter, and your axle ratio, as well as your engine mods. So without knowing all of these details, a number is not even possible.
You didn't specify pure stock, though all 3 were offered with 3.23:1 and 245/50R16, but noone doing either LT or LS swap ever sticks to pure stock anyway.

Re: 0-60mph L98/LT1/LS1

I've run LT1 cars from a dig with my L98, and I've run LS1/LS2 cars from a dig.

THey are abit quicker. If you are talking same gearing/stock motors in the same thirdgen chassis, there is a big difference between them all. Your looking at 220whp vs 250-260whp vs 290-300whp for L98 vs LT1 vs LS1.

LS1 and LT1's like abit more gearing than L98's due to difference in power band.

If your talking stock cars from the different generations, theres still a big difference.

L98 is still near 6 sec 0-60 in a thirdgen.
LT1 4th gen can be mid 5's 0-60.
LS1 4th gen can be low 5's 0-60, but really depends on the factory gearing.

MY 99 LS1 with stock converter and 2.73 gears took awhile to get to 60 since it took awhile to get into the powerband. Once it did, it rips. My friends 95 Z28 with bolt ons was faster than my 99 LS1 stock. Now that I have exhaust/headers/lid/tune/converter, its alittle faster than his car was. His was stock auto with 3.73 gears tho, makes a huge difference.

NO NO NO RONNJOHN they are not a FAIL this is what the cars will pull average... give or take few points
um if you have bald tires and 411's lead foot don't know how to launch
well it's very obvious... and it could take 12 sec 0-60.... with bolt on's it's gonna get better or again don't know how to launch.... WORSE

im just at 4.5 seconds with my current combo with crappy kuhmo tires.... i bet with a vigilante 2800 stall and afr 180 heads it would bring that down to the bottom 4's easilly.. torque and gears are your friend when it comes to 0-60 times : )
