Firewall vacuum lines NEED help PLEASE!!
Ok so theres 2 vaccum lines comeing out of the fire wall, i need to know where the shortest one goes, it has a 90 degree fitting, I am also alittle lost as to where the vacuum line goes from the canister on my drivers side, i have a 91 RS, does that go to the little octogon beside the egr? I know this seems silly but this is killing me tryin to figure it out, it just doesnt seem like that line stretches to anything unless i have things more messed up then i thought, i went off of a diagram in a book, but it doesnt even show the canister or those two lines, i know where the longer one goes, i think -.- any help would be greatly apprechated =] THANKS in advanced Thread Starter

this is a pic of the vac line routing diagram for your car. my car is tuned port injection and not tbi. any vac lines going IN to the firewall should be for hvac.

Re: Firewall vacuum lines NEED help PLEASE!!
I have that in my book what i dont have, and u can prolly tell even better now how not good i am with the wordage, is below the canister, i need that line routing, explained or a diagram something, It has a T that comes off it, one of the lines i have routed beside the EGR, the other is pluged, (not by me) but there are 2 lines on the passenger side comeing out of the firewall one goes stright into the heater hoses, (im assumeing) the other one is super short and doesnt reach to much of anything.. Maybe this helps anyway off to work -.- hopefully i get back and have some usefull info =]]]

This is the line coming out of the firewall, I need to know where it goes

I need to know if this is right, one side is pluged off, should it be? and where does the other end go to, i have it connected to this!

Re: Firewall vacuum lines NEED help PLEASE!!
I'll go check for you right now about the line that is t'd off and runs down the drivers side... I'm not sure where that short one goes either tho, and I dont know what connects to the octagon shaped thing either... you are right about the long vac line attaching to the heater valve though. I'm having trouble putting the finishing touches on an engine swap, and i'm looking for a lot of the same answers as you.
Could you please explain to me how your heater hoses are connected... because I'm a little stumped on what goes where.

Re: Firewall vacuum lines NEED help PLEASE!!
Alright, the bottom of that T connects to a vacuum ball under the drivers side fender/bumper area... then one side connects to that octagon thing i'm assuming(based on how yours was hooked up, and the other side (the one you have plugged) attaches to this thing beside the charcoal canister.... on my car there is also a cable that attaches to the throttle bracket coming from there. I took a picture of it on my phone that i can upload if you need it

If you could post a couple pictures of your heater hoses and where they all go, that would be awesome... also, where does your vac line going to the egr valve come from... I cant find that anywhere... people on here say it goes to your egr solenoid, but i cant find that either

The one off to the right goes to the drivers side off of the exaust manifold, the one on top mid goes to the firewall, on the left side from the front of the car, the other one runs down the side to the bottom to a cooliant line, i hope this is what u where talkin about if not i will take more pics and explain more :P

It might have been removed on your car... is there an open slot in you throttle bracket, because there is a line running from that thing to the throttle bracket. I'll find out what it is tomorrow and let you know, maybe something for cruise control

No answer yet on that short vacuum line?
Joe, on your heater hoses, which side of the heater core runs to the radiator, passenger side or drivers side?

Re: Firewall vacuum lines NEED help PLEASE!!
I'm lost though, cause my car sputters out where it wont even get up and go even if i push the gas all the way down, It just stalls/backfires from the TBI i think, im not sure, but it doesnt sound like a normal backfire, and iknow for a fact, (im almost positive) its not the timeing, i just set it and tripple checked where it was at, and tightend it down towhere its NOT gonna budge, i can start it, pull it out, get out of the drive way, up my culdisack, and down the road maybe a couple hundred feet if that, and it does that, SOOO FRUSTRATEING i think it may be a pressure problem though, bleh, i need to get a pressure tester from a auto parts store, im afraid im gonna have to drop my tank again

Re: Firewall vacuum lines NEED help PLEASE!!
One the passenger side firewall you can see where 2 hoses go in, one is an outlet and the other is an inlet... dont worry about it though, i'll figure it out.
Have you pulled your air cleaner off and hit the throttle and see what your throttle body is doing, it should be spraying in a nice cone shape and not sputtering out... I had the same problem... i added fresh gas and i was good to go, but my car sat for 5 or 6 years with the same old gas... i plan on adding some injector cleaner too though, cant hurt

check the condition of the pcv valve hose that connects to throttle body, it is the one that runs to your drivers side valve cover

Re: Firewall vacuum lines NEED help PLEASE!!
Joefuss, that vacuum line could go to your fuel pressure regulator. It sounds like your issue with the way it's running maybe associated with the FPR. I have a TPI and it has a similar vacuum hookup on the FPR. Not sure where your FPR is located on a TBI though. If you have a book, check in it. I have a book and am going to look too.
