92 3.1 RS wont start
92 3.1 RS wont start
I am going crazy trying to figure out why my car wont start.
First the fuel pump was bad so I replaced it. Now I have fuel to the engine within specs. Then I checked the plugs, wires, icm, dist cap, rotor, ignition coil, and pick-up coil. The only thing that was bad was the pick-up coil. Injectors ohm correctly (12.3-12.6), and proper voltage to each. Battery is ok, alt is ok, starter is ok. Checked the timing and its 10* BDTC on 1.
The engine turns, but it won't start. I do not see the check engine lights on. I do notice the oil pressure gauge and the temp gauge going from 0 all the way to the right when trying to turn it over.
The next thing I am going to try is a compression test, but I do not think it is necessary since the car ran fine before I parked it 2 years ago.
What am I missing??

Just because the injectors pass the ohm test doesn't mean they're not clogged. If the car sat for 2 years it's a possibility. But you need a spark and you could try starting with starting fluid sprayed in the intake while someone cranks it. That'll give you a clue to the spark/fuel situation.

Try a little bit of gas thru the TB. You need 3 things, spark, fuel and air. Sounds like you have spark and air. If it runs for a second or two with a bit of gas then its time to track down why it's not delivering fuel. If thats the case then the first thing I would check is fuel pressure.

Get someone else to crank the engine and spray starting fluid right into the TB. It takes a fair amount. If you get no fire then you aren't getting a spark. At least not at the right time. You may want to try this before you pull the injectors.

I think its a timing issue. It will run but only when I rev it. I also discovered the o ring in the throttle body is bad and it leaks coolant. Does anyone know the part number for it?
