What a great thread, I am trying to figure out where the third t-hose for my 89 5.0 tpi goes. I have one hose coming in from the fuel tank, another going from the throttle body to the top nipple but the third hose I have is disconnected and just hanging out. I believe it goes over the air inlet nipple and somehow connects to the EGR? The "correct" 85-90" tpi diagram in post 33 I believe shows the third hose,
I actually started a separate thread last night under general engine w pics, I can't post pic from phone it seems

Smog pump has nothing to due with vacuum lines.

 

All available vac lines are posted.

 

AC has nothing to do with vac lines other than the vac line that is in the harness by firewall.

Also location of oil pressure sensor I think I see it on the passenger side but there's no wire going to it 1987 Pontiac firebird!!!

 

Just wanted to bring this back up in case anyone is looking and is confused as I was about it.....
I'm fairly certain this first diagram is correct for the 87-89 TPI.
And I think the second diagram should be labeled 85-86 TPI, NOT 85-89.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Why does it not show where the valve cover breathers connect to the intake? Or the other piece that connects to the manifold to the intake?

 

I dont know. This is how the diagrams show on my manuals.

Three questions.....
Why does my 1984 Firebird 5.0 Carburetted have 2 MAP Sensors - one by the blower motor on passenger side, and one by the brake booster?
Secondly, I have 2 vacuum lines on the front side of the EGR solenoid. One goes to the valve, and the other to the carburettor; but there seems to be a port on the back side as well.... Where does this go?
Thirdly, on the back of the carburettor, on the Airhorn, there is a vacuum hook-up-- what goes there?

 

The egr solenoid should have a small foam filter on the 3rd port.
As for the 2 MAP sensors, I don't know. I'm a MAF guy.
